So incredibly proud of Cavemen, the Yr 8 band from South Wellington Intermediate School (SWIS) who have won Bandquest. These talented and hard-working young musicians took home $2k for SWIS’s music department – a much-needed boost, and studio time for the band to record a song. Congratulations!
I’m so grateful to SWIS for taking music seriously and for their incredible music teachers who make the absolute most of everything they have. Aaron and Paddy, you make a real difference to our kids. What they learn and experience through music feeds into every other aspect of their life.
Huge congratulations to all prize winners, all 26 national finalists, and every young musician in the hundreds of bands that performed with such infectious joy during the regional finals. It takes real courage to go out there on stage, blinded by the stage lights, and perform to a packed audience and JUDGES! Hands-down so impressed.
